Thunder Island Wedding
Jennifer and Michael live in Cascade Locks, so it was only natural to get married there! They decided to have a short and sweet brunch wedding at Thunder Island with a reception at the Gorge Pavilion. This venue is also collectively known as The Locks Wedding and Event Venue. Jennifer and Michael are huge Disney fans and I loved all the little ways they incorporated Disney magic into their day! There were little bits of Disney sprinkled throughout all their details - her manicure, his watch, the pens they signed their marriage certificate with, their cake, and even an Aladdin rug during their ceremony.
They also ended their party with a white bouncy castle - SO FUN! It was playful, special and a great way to entertain their guests.
Thunder Island Location
Thunder Island is a public island on the Columbia River. It’s located in the town of Cascade Locks, about 40 minutes from Portland.
About Thunder Island Weddings
Thunder Island, also known as The Locks Wedding and Event Venue, is a part of a historic marine park on the Columbia River. The venue offers scenic views of the surrounding Columbia River Gorge, as well as a cozy indoor pavilion for receptions. There is also a historic home, “house #3” where couples can get ready and take photos. All the spaces are a short stroll or a one minute drive apart.
The venue is owned by the Port of Cascade Locks and has a capacity of around 200 guests. The island is connected to the mainland via a small footbridge, and chairs are included in the rental. If you rent the Gorge Pavilion as well, it has a capacity of 400 standing or 200 sitting.
