About my engagement sessions
I absolutely love to turn my engagement shoots into adventures to rugged, beautiful locations. Think of it as a epic day spent making memories with your love - hiking, laughing, even popping a bottle of champagne - just with a photographer there to join you! I also love exploring the urban landscape, stopping by coffee shops, walking down your favorite street, even taking photos in your own home to document your everyday joy.
Doing a couples session gives you the opportunity to take some amazing photos together on a day that is MUCH less stressful and busy than your wedding, and it gives us the option to take photos anywhere, without many time restrictions.
When is the best time to do engagement or couples photos?
I take couples photos year round, in any time of weather (rain, sun, snow, you name it!). I typically book sessions at sunrise or sunset for the best romantic lighting, but I often block out more time to make sure we can travel to our locations and arrive at the perfect time of day for light.
What to wear and bring
Pick your favorite clothes that make you feel the most confident and comfortable. Make sure everything fits super well. Take into consideration where we are shooting and bring footwear that is cute but also practical. As for colors, I prefer to photograph people in neutrals and solids, because I want the focus on you and your love, not the clothing! It’s a good idea to avoid really bright fluorescent colors because the light can bounce off the clothing and into the shadows of your face, adding a weird color cast to images. This is another reason why it’s a good idea to bring a variety of options in case something doesn’t work. It’s also a good idea to coordinate your outfits, just don’t get matchy- matchy. Pick a general color scheme and play around with it! For example, if one person wears a plaid shirt, have another person wear a shirt or dress with a color that comes from that plaid. Adding different textures to the same scheme looks good too!

Prints + Extras
Every single one of my photo packages includes a digital download of the images, so if you really want to order prints yourself, you can!
That said, I do like to warn people that not all prints are created equal. A lot of places will print things with strange looking colors, greenish casts, too much contrast, and just in general they wont turn out the way they are supposed to look! I spend hours editing photos to make them look a specific way, and bad printing totally reverses all my hard work, which is a total bummer.
Because of this, I always recommend that you order prints through me if you want to make sure they come out perfectly. Print prices are subject to change, but these are my current rates:
Print Pricing
- 4x6 - $8.50
- 5x7 - $13.00
- 8x10 - $26.00
- 11x14 - $38.00
- 16x20 - $50.00
A La Carte Add-Ons
- Additional edited photos: $15 per image
- Additional photoshoot time: $500 per extra hour
- Purchase all the unedited JPEGs from the session: $300
- Purchase all the unedited RAW files from the session: $500

Proposals
I LOVE documenting proposals! It’s such a huge, happy moment and having good photos of it is SO important!
I’ll work directly with you to help plan your proposal in the most epic place possible. I can hide in a bush, pretend to be doing a regular couples shoot, or even act like I’m a tourist standing there in plain sight. Either way, we will get AMAZING photos of one of the best moments in your lives.
Because proposals are a little different than regular couples sessions, I have a slightly different pricing structure. Instead of choosing from proofs and getting a select number of final edited images, I edit ALL the photos for you so you have complete documentation of the proposal and the happiness afterward. It’s more similar to my wedding photography in that I deliver a lot more images, but I don’t retouch them quite as much. My proposal photos are edited the same way I edit my wedding photos.
My pricing for proposals is $1100 for documentation of the proposal itself and up to 90 minutes of couples photos after. That includes all the high res, edited photos in an online gallery, delivered in three weeks or less. I’ll also send you 10+ sneak peeks within one week.

Locations
We all have places in our lives that make us feel relaxed and at peace, or places that hold special memories and meaning. Choose a place for your photos that feels like YOU. I’m happy to help suggest ideas based on what you have in mind, and you also check out my website and blog! And I’m always willing to shoot at new spots that might be special to you.

Travel
I do a LOT of couples shoots at the Oregon Coast, Mt. Hood, and in the Columbia River Gorge! If you book my 2 hour session, travel to these locations is complimentary. If you want to do my 1 hour session at one of these spots; that’s fine too! I’ll just add a small travel fee.
Want to do a couples session somewhere further? Reach out to me and we can plan something epic!

Next steps
To start the process, schedule a phone call with me so we can get to know each other! I’d love to answer all your photography questions and help with anything that I can at this stage! It will also help you decide if I’m a good fit for you or not. I want to feel much more like a friend than just another vendor, so phone calls really help us get to know one another before you book me!
