Sometimes it rains. Okay, usually it rains. But it rains softly and gently in that typical Oregon fashion. It doesn’t usually soak you to the bone right away. You can walk through it and it feels like a big wet dog following you around, kissing your fingertips and your nose. Yes it’s mildly annoying but it’s just something you get used to. But not on this day. Nope. Bre and Matt came up from Southern California for their engagement photos and Oregon greeted them with a massive, unrelenting rainstorm. We kept thinking maybe it would stop. Maybe it would lighten up as we drove up the mountain? Nahhhhh. We were soaked. My camera gear was soaked. As we drove up in the snow we were frozen AND soaked. But it was an adventure. A miserable, wet, beautiful, memorable, oh-so-very-pacific-northwest adventure. And you know what? I absolutely loved the photos from it. The moody light, the rain and snow on my lens, the spontaneity of it all. I live for this ridiculousness. And love it so, so much.
