Senior Pricing Guide

Senior Pricing Guide

Welcome! You made it! After years of craziness and fun, you are FINALLY graduating! Here at last!

I believe that senior photos and graduation portraits should be an expression of who you are at this stage of your life.

You are wildly unique, and your photos should be too! I love creating deeply personalized photoshoots that creatively depict the multitudes of your personality. I'll help you brainstorm ideas for locations and the overall mood of the shoot. The options are endless! We can create editorial images in a studio, or head deep into a forest for some ethereal magic. Love the city? We can explore the urban landscape and find pockets to light and shadow that feel cinematic. I live for adventure, and for making portraits that don't feel like your average boring graduation pictures. In fact, I shrink away from the concept of what grad photos should be and try to approach these sessions the same way I'd approach any type of photography.

I want my photos to feel authentic, vibrant, raw, real, bold, honest, joyful, creative, cinematic and genuine.

I also want you to absolutely love the experience of taking them - and adore the final images too! Let's make magic together!

"The way Katy can capture light while also making every shot look natural and comfortable is unbelievable."

-Kristen, 2016

About the Sessions

On the day of the shoot, we’ll meet at the first location you pick and start shooting right away so that you can warm up in the first 10 minutes or so. Everyone takes a little time to feel comfortable in front of a camera, so don’t worry if you are a little nervous or awkward at first! I love to give a lot of direction, so you won’t just be standing there wondering what to do!

We’ll wander around the location to get a lot of variety in backgrounds and poses, and you’ll be free to change your outfit anytime you want. I also ask any parents and friends who come along to turn around and not watch you while you are being photographed, just because that helps you feel more comfortable and less like you have an audience!

What to wear:

You can bring as many outfits as you want to your session, but most people come with around three. When choosing what to wear, pick your favorite clothes that make you feel the most confident and comfortable. As a general rule, neutrals photograph better than bright colors - it’s a good idea to avoid fluorescent fabrics and really bright shades that will bounce a vibrant color into the shadows of your neck and face (turquoise, bright blues, lime greens, and coral can all do this). Definitely make sure that everything fits you well! Stay away from anything that might be really tight, really baggy, or really tiny. These articles of clothing can lead to awkward photos that might accidentally show undergarments or make you look larger than you actually are. Also, if a particular color brings out your eyes really well, definitely bring a shirt in that shade! Jewelry and other accessories are always welcome as well, because they make it really easy to make subtle outfit changes as we shoot. Finally, make sure to iron and steam your clothing beforehand - you don’t want it to look wrinkled!

Where to Change:

When shooting on location, there often isn’t a good place to change outfits, so keep this in mind. Most people change in the car or they bring a sheet and change behind it. Also if you plan outfits and undergarments accordingly, you can sometimes change in public without a problem (by putting on pants under a skirt, etc).

FULL ARTICLE ON WHAT TO WEAR FOR SENIOR PHOTOS!

"My daughter's senior photos turned out AMAZING!!!! This was my daughter's first professional photo shoot -- so we had LOTS of questions leading up to the BIG DAY. We sought advice from Katy on locations and various other tactical details even sending her photos of outfits to help us choose in advance. Katy was always very responsive, supportive and patient during our indecisiveness. Most importantly though my daughter is thrilled with her photos! My daughter wanted photos that were not like all the other senior photos she sees. Katy truly delivered on that and the end result are photos that are truly unique and special while capturing my daughter's spirit as well. I would highly recommend Katy Weaver to all my friends and family! You won't be disappointed!"

She's a girl that doesn't really think of herself as pretty, but tonight it's different! You are incredibly talented. I don't know that anyone else could have worked with her the way you did. You saw into her soul! Thank you!"

"We hired Katy to do senior photos for our camera shy son, and they are spectacular! She took the time before booking to get to know him a bit via phone consult so he felt at ease on the day of the shoot. I really appreciated her super clear messaging about everything--payment schedule, her timelines after the shoot, wardrobe suggestions, etc. Everything was very smooth and stress free. I highly recommend her work, and we will certainly be contacting her again!"

Prints + Extras

Every single one of my photo packages includes a digital download of the images, so if you really want to order prints yourself, you can!

That said, I do like to warn people that not all prints are created equal. A lot of places will print things with strange looking colors, greenish casts, too much contrast, and just in general they wont turn out the way they are supposed to look! I spend hours editing photos to make them look a specific way, and bad printing totally reverses all my hard work, which is a total bummer.

Because of this, I always recommend that you order prints through me if you want to make sure they come out perfectly. Print prices are subject to change, but these are my current rates:

4x6 - $8.50
5x7 - $13.00
8x10 - $26.00
11x14 - $38.00
16x20 - $50.00

A La Carte Add-Ons

Additional edited photos: $15 per image
Additional photoshoot time: $500 per extra hour
Purchase all the unedited JPEGs from the session: $300
Purchase all the unedited RAW files from the session: $500
